RESEARCH & TRAINING

Freedom Institute for Research and Training on the Addictions The Institute participates in many research projects through Columbia University New York State Psychiatric Institute which is part of the Clinical Trials Network of the National Institute on Drug Abuse. In addition, the Institute provides CASAC training to staff, area residents interested in becoming CASAC credentialed addiction specialists, and VESID or other training program participants who are seeking training as they change their life from participating in addiction to helping others to overcome addictive behaviors. All courses offered by the Institute are evidence based and reflect the knowledge based on outcome of many research studies

Our CASAC Training Center offers a wide range of training curricula directed towards meeting the classroom education requirements for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services; Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor designation. All trainers and courses are approved by NYS OASAS for certification, recertification and grand-parenting of credentials (when applicable). All courses are evidence based and reflect the latest in research findings. Narco Freedom is part of the NIDA clinical trials network and has easy access to research findings as they are identified. The courses offered are generally between 6, 12, 15 and 18 hours in length.
